Kryptonite KryptoLok Standard: the current position
Kryptonite currently lists the KryptoLok Standard with a 12.7mm hardened-steel shackle, double deadbolts, a disc-style cylinder, dust cover and FlexFrame-U bracket.
The current Mini-7 offers the same broad family in a shorter format. Dimensions, weight and independent certification must be verified for the exact product code.
- Current KryptoLok Standard
- 12.7mm hardened-steel shackle
- Double-deadbolt construction
- Disc-style key cylinder
- Frame transport bracket

What has changed
The Series 2's older crossbar, cylinder and bracket should not be assumed to match current replacement parts or ratings.
KryptoLok remains a moderate everyday U-lock family rather than a guarantee against all attack. Parking time, location and bicycle value determine whether a higher tier or second lock is sensible.
How it works and who it suits
Use a Standard-size lock where reach is necessary and a Mini where local stands allow a tighter fit. Avoid leaving open space that gives tools room to work.
Capture the frame and a genuinely immovable stand; accessory cables are secondary protection for wheels, not primary locks.

Checks before buying
Colours, materials, fittings and included accessories can change during a product's sales life. Check the exact current listing and retain the maker's instructions.
- Check the maker's current dimensions and compatibility information
- Compare the exact current product rather than an old review score or price
- Confirm warranty, spares and returns before ordering
- Inspect safety-critical fittings regularly once the product is in use
- Verify current Sold Secure certification and insurer requirements
Care, use and replacement
Follow the current maker's instructions for cleaning, adjustment and storage. Dirt, ultraviolet light, sweat and repeated wet use can shorten the life of fabrics, coatings and fittings.
Stop using equipment when a structural attachment, lock, light mount or load-bearing part is damaged. Replacement parts must match the exact generation rather than merely sharing a product-family name.
