Kryptonite Evolution Standard: the current position
The current Evolution Standard uses a 14mm hardened-steel shackle, a double-deadbolt design, disc-style cylinder and frame bracket. Current Mini versions trade internal space for a more compact lock.
Use the exact product page for dimensions, weight and certification. The word Evolution alone does not identify shackle size, reach or an insurer-approved rating.

What has changed
Evolution 4 conclusions should not be applied to current crossbars, brackets or ratings. The current family has revised dust covers, cylinders and deadbolt construction.
The practical choice remains a fit problem: the smallest shackle that reliably captures the frame and normal stand leaves less space for leverage.
How it works and who it suits
The Standard offers more reach; Mini versions can be easier to carry and tighter when they fit. Measure real parking stands before choosing.
Secure the frame directly, keep the lock off the ground and add a second lock for wheels or severe theft risk.

Checks before buying
Colours, materials, fittings and included accessories can change during a product's sales life. Check the exact current listing and retain the maker's instructions.
- Check the maker's current dimensions and compatibility information
- Compare the exact current product rather than an old review score or price
- Confirm warranty, spares and returns before ordering
- Inspect safety-critical fittings regularly once the product is in use
- Verify current Sold Secure certification and insurer requirements
Care, use and replacement
Follow the current maker's instructions for cleaning, adjustment and storage. Dirt, ultraviolet light, sweat and repeated wet use can shorten the life of fabrics, coatings and fittings.
Stop using equipment when a structural attachment, lock, light mount or load-bearing part is damaged. Replacement parts must match the exact generation rather than merely sharing a product-family name.
