One of our top choices for bikes costing less than £300 the Trek 7.0 FX comes in at a penny under £300, even has gears!
The bike is built with a neat aluminium frame accompanied by a steel fork to soak up the vibrations.
It goes really well and the riding position will suit most – it’s not too sit up and beg, nor leant too far forward. This means you’ll be able to get up a decent speed and still be able to keep your head up in traffic.
The Trek 7.0 FX is lightweight compared to other comparable bikes and comes with a really effective set of Tektro caliper brakes.
The Shimano derailleurs are really basic, as you’d expect at this price point, but they’re well made and should last well.
This is one of the best bikes with gears available at this price point.
